A long overdue return to the Black Forest saw Moto Ventura riders enjoying cold beer in the evenings and 30 degree roads during the day. We know there is a lot more to the Black Forest than the B500 and riders got to enjoy some fantastic twists and turns away from the beaten track.

Triberg and Wolfach were natural stopping points and the fun challenge of finding the largest cuckoo clock was won by Steve, who not only went the extra mile - but went quite a few extra miles to secure the win though it was perhaps unintentional.

The amazing thing about the Black Forest is that it has the perfect balance of roads for biking while not having to wander too far from 'base camp'.
A great mix of German culture, modern evening dining and a dab of tourism made this a superb week away from Blighty. Just enough time to hit the reset button

For those wanting to stretch their legs there was a ride over to the Tree Top Walk at Bad Wildbad while others in the group enjoyed the Technik Museum in Sinsheim. Each evening was spent exploring the hospitality of Baden-Baden and we did our very best to make the most of the abundance of restaurants and beer gardens.

Our ride back to the UK took us to Luxembourg City with our city centre hotel located just a short walk from the city centre and Bruges, where an equally short walk took us to the city square and a chance to enjoy some traditional food and drink.
On the journey from Luxembourg City to Bruges we rode some hidden gems in the top of Luxembourg before popping in to Bastogne and Battle of Bulge Museum followed by humbling visit to the Easy Company Foxholes, carefully and sympathetically cared for so generations can pay their respects for years to come.
So back in the UK and enjoying the Jubilee weekend, it is time for a rest but also time to think ahead and I feel it is a good opportunity to mention that there is still space on our Adriatic Tour running from 11th to 25th of September - Along with the hotels (many with pools and spas), Breakfasts, Channel Tunnel, T-shirt, Oxford Jeans, edited trip movie we also include your péage, tolls and vignettes but one of the highlights which should be highlighted in the day off in Dubrovnik.
While some riders may want to chill and enjoy the sights and sounds of the old city, for those wanting to capitalise on the biking around this stunning area, anyone who wishes to can following Moto Ventura's John Wilton down to Kotor in Montenegro for a coffee before heading up one of the most amazing set of hairpins in order to experience a jaw-dropping view of Kotor Bay at the top.

Once at the top we ride the mountain roads in to ‘Bosnia and Herzegovina’ before dropping back again to Dubrovnik in time for an early dinner and a dip in the pool.

A quick glimpse of our 'day off' reveals that it is a full day in the saddle but is completely optional. We appreciate that many riders will be enjoying the old city and will opt for a day wandering the old streets or taking in a 'Game of Thrones' tour - either way we have the joys of two full nights in our Dubrovnik hotel to enjoy.
