Insane 10-day Tour plus a ride to Ukraine. What's coming in 2023?

Writer: John WiltonJohn Wilton

Our 2023 tour is a sweet little 10-day blast to the French Alps in July and quite frankly, you would be mad to miss it. For that reason, we are calling it 'Insanity', though you will be forgiven for thinking the name is more akin to the state of mind when you see the roads we are riding.

We are also planning a long weekend over to Ukraine, but for obvious reasons, this is not a tour but a personal mission.

Insanity. Running from the 30th of June to the 10th of July 2023 we will meet the group at Folkestone for a morning crossing of the channel tunnel on the 1st of July. From Calais, we ride down to Annecy and Grenoble then southeast taking in some of the most biblical roads France offers.

You name it, this tour has it in abundance. High Alpine Roads, Balcony Roads, Gorges, and lakeside runs, exquisite town centre 'downtime' and all at a very relaxed pace. Less daily mileage and time in the saddle give riders plenty of time to chill and take in the scenery - which let's face it, is world-class!

The list of roads is truly gobsmacking - Col-de-this and Combe-that - A full itinerary will go out to each rider nearer D-day but for an informal chat or Q&A feel free to contact us via email or phone.

Insanity is well over 50% booked so hurry to secure your space!

Ukraine. With the last 12 months being devasting for Ukraine and ultimately giving the world an almighty wake-up call, for my 50th birthday I wanted to so something. I had the pleasure of visiting Ukraine many years ago a number of times, Keiv, Kharkiv and the Black Sea Resorts, and I want to highlight just how close Ukraine is to all of us. So #Ukraine1066 will see me taking 50 IFAK medical kits to Ukraine in Spring 2023 on the good old BMW Motorrad. These kits are for immediate trauma applications such as shrapnel, bullet wounds and amputations and contain items such as Israeli dressings, high-quality tourniquets, catastrophic bleed kits, vented chest seals, trauma sheers and lots more all of which are urgently needed at the frontline. Once at Ukraine, I will meet a frontline medic who will transfer items onward to the men and women defending the country.

Why 1066? I will ride the 1066 miles (approx) from Calais to Ukraine in one hit because I want to highlight just how close a full-scale war is to our own border in the UK.

You will be coming with me, through your donations and also as I will document the journey on our YouTube channel - 'Tango Pasty'

To donate - Please email/Whatsapp for details - A simple bank transfer of any amount will help towards the project. Support stickers are a minimum donation of £5 but all amounts are gratefully received.

YouTube. We continue to work on footage for YouTube but time isn't always in abundance, so bear with us! We are currently editing the footage from last September's trip to Croatia and Montenegro and hope to have the material available soon. Their journey will be edited to several shorter features and we are excited to see how the 360 footage is received. Please subscribe to our channel to show your support and, as we hope you do with our Tweets, Instagrams and Facebook posts, share with your biking friends.

Thank you again for your continued support.
