For 2023 we are taking a leisurely trip to the French Alps taking in a mix of high alpine roads,

balcony roads and gorgeous gorges.


The trip includes some of the most breathtaking alpine roads in the French Alps along with beautiful lakeside rides, stunning vistas, balcony roads and high alpine twists and turns.


Insanity is PACKED with adventure but at a leisurely rate that will allow the rider oodles of time to enjoy chilling out with coffee and cake and much as sit back enjoying the bends a change of pace from our bigger, higher mileage tours.
Some roads are detailed below as a taster but a full list will be supplied prior to departing when our detailed info packs are emailed.

June 30th Meet Folkstone

Overnighter - Meet the team. Dinnertime briefing on the trip and the way we work during the tour including details of rider safety and trip shenanigans.

July 1st Calais to Troyes 250 miles. (Approx 3 1/2 hours riding time)

We enjoy a relaxed breakfast before heading to the tunnel a short hop across the English Channel. From Calais we ride progressively southeast to the medieval town of Troyes, which is character timber building and immense history, this champagne region town ensure a warm welcome when we arrive mid-afternoon where we can enjoy a relaxing early evening with the group for our first evening in France.

July 2nd Troyes to Annecy 280 miles

After a relaxed start, scenery gradually changes throughout the day as we head further south to Lake Annecy. Smaller roads ensure we start to experience the ‘tres bon Francais atmosphere Rodney!’

July 3rd Annecy to Grenoble 144 miles

Now for the good stuff and we ride the eastern edge of Lake Annecy before encountering some jaw-dropping scenery. A small taste of what's to come with dramatic roads
and views at a very relaxed pace. Warming your tyres we treat
you today to ‘Lacets de Montvernier’ whilst en route to Grenoble where we plan to stop for two nights.

July 4th Grenobole (night 2) 180 miles

We can lighten the motorcycles if you wish as today we ride an exciting loop finishing back in Grenoble again. Included in today is Combe Laval, Col de la Machine, Les Écouges Rencurel and Les Grand Goulets. Today’s riding is off the chart in thrills!

July 5th Grenoble to Barcelonette 180 miles

If you think it couldn’t get any better, think again. We head south east for more iconic an equally bonkers roads including Col de la Caylolle (2327 metres) Col des Champs (2087 metres). Col d’alloa (2240 metres)

July 6th Barcelonette to Susa (IT) 150 miles

Today we discover the highest paved road in France, Col de la Bonett (2715 metres) a must ride bucket-list road for any motorcyclist. We end the day in Italy. Included in this day, Col de Restefond (2678 metres) the amazing 75 hair pin bends of the Col de la Lombarde (2350 metres) border crossing and more.

July 7th Susa to Annecy 150 miles

Heading back to Lake Annecy we encounter more gorgeous roads hair-pins lake side excellence.

July 8th Annecy to Troyes 240 miles

A new route takes up back to Troyes to slowly wind down and relax back to familiar surroundings

July 9th Troyes to Ypres 235 miles

A progressive day sees us riding to Ypres, where our city centre hotel allows us a short walk to witness the last post at the Menin Gate. Played every evening since the end of World War One (except for a short pause during the hostilities of WW2 of course

​

July 10th Ypres to Calais 60 miles 

A short morning dash and it is across the channel and back to Blighty and a wave good bye to our Moto Ventura friends.
