Our Signature Tour, the 9-Länder was the result of a group of friends putting their heads together many years ago to draw up their first venture into Europe. Tweaked slightly for 2019, 9-Länder promises some breathtaking routes on some famous and infamous alpine roads with a few iconic landmarks thrown in for good measure including an overnight stay in Colditz Castle.
July 28th - Folkestone
Pre-Tour meet & greet with accommodation in Folkestone.

July 29th - Eurotunnel to Féy, France
A 5-minute ride to the Eurotunnel and on to our first European Hotel of the 9-Länder in Léy via the Verdun Ossuary.

July 30th - Féy to Konstanz, Germany
Coffee in Strasbourg then into Germany crossing the Rhine and the lions share of the beautiful Black Forest and the B500 before heading on to our hotel on Stunning Lake Konstanz.

July 31st - Konstanz to Imst, Austria
We ride the southern side of Lake Konstanz before heading to the fabulous Neuschwanstein Castle, film location for ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’. After a tour of the castle we head to Austria.

Aug 1st - Imst to Bormio, Italy
A visit to the ‘Top Mountain Museum’ before we ride the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road south into Italy. Epic views, tunnels and amazing riding. We then descend further to Merano through beautiful forests and head West. A visit to the sunken Church at Lake Resia before tackling the Umbrail Pass and down to the friendly Italian town of Bormio.

Aug 2nd - Bormio to Bressanone, Italy
The Mighty Stelvio Pass. While not a quick road is one that inspires and amazes. After descending Stelvio we continue east riding the beautiful San Martino Pass and San Leonardo Pass to our hotel in Bressanone-Brixen.

Aug 3rd - Bressanone to Lienz, Austria
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better we ride the beautiful Colle St. Lucia before travelling east through the Cortina and back into Austria twisting around National Parks and weaving over and between some of the most photographed mountain ranges in the world.

Aug 4th - Lienz to Salzberg, Austria
His Majesty the Großglockner. We ride to the Wilhelm Swarovski Observatory before riding the funicular down into the Großglockner Glacier. We then ride the Großglockner High Alpine Road. Long sweeping bends on wide smooth ribbons of tarmac affording spectacular and commanding views we enjoy the crossing at a relaxing and pleasant pace pausing for a spot of lunch at 2571 metres and we earn our Edelweiss. We descend north and crossing briefly into Germany to ride through the Berchtesgaden National Park before crossing again into Austria and Salzburg

Aug 5th - Salzburg Day off (Ice Caves & Eagles Nest)
Either enjoy a day off or come with us to visit;
Morning - ICE CAVES. Located in Werfen, 30 miles south of Salzburg the ‘Eisriesenwelt’ is the worlds largest Ice Cave and we take a 1km guided tour inside the magnificent cave system.
Afternoon - EAGLES NEST.
After lunch, we ride over the border to visit the Kehlsteinhaus or ‘Eagles Nest’. A 50th birthday present to Adolf Hitler from the Nazi we access the Eagles Nest via a short bus ride as the road is closed to public vehicles. Complete with polished brass elevator and an Italian marble fireplace the Eagles Nest now serves as a cafe/restaurant.

Aug 6th - Salzburg to Prague, Czech Republic
Our ride to Prague is relaxed and graceful and take in the beautiful countryside of the Czech Republic.

Aug 7th - Day off Prague
Explore this amazing city or simply sit back and enjoy the hotels Steam Room and Sauna. Our hotel is located 5 minutes walk from Wenceslaus Square and 10 minutes walk from the Old Town with the Astronomical Clock and the Gothic Church of Our Lady.

Aug 8th - Prague to Colditz, Germany
A morning ride to the infamous Colditz Castle, Germany and our extended Colditz Tour. Colditz Castle really needs no introduction. Home during WW2 to POW’s most notably, Flying Ace Douglas Bader, Desmond Llewelyn (‘Q’ from 007), Airey Neave MP, David Stirling (founder of the SAS) and most famously associated with escape attempts, Pat Reid, Colditz was synonymous for escape attempts many of which form part of our tour including the famous Colditz Glider.
Our accommodation for the night is actually Colditz Castle and while not a luxury hotel, who else can say they have slept the night in such an amazing & iconic location

Aug 9th - Colditz to Möhnesee, Germany
We head west to the Möhne Dam, the most well known of the 4 Dams targeted by Operation Chastice and the bouncing bomb. Commanded by a 24-year-old Wing Commander Guy Gibson the raid was carried out in 1943 with the intention of destroying a number of Germanys hydroelectric power stations. Our hotel is just 9 miles from the Dam.

Aug 10th - Mohnesee to Amsterdam, Netherlands
We ride from Germany and into the Netherlands and Amsterdam. A shorter ride offering opportunity to explore Amsterdam and its many attractions while still riding some stunning roads following the River Lek across the Netherlands

Aug 11th - Amsterdam to Bruges, Belgium
We ride to Bruges hugging the coast of the Netherlands via an array of dams and bridges. Our final hotel in the Old Town of Bruges is a short walk from the historic town centre.
​
Aug 12th - Bruges to Calais, France
A short 70-mile run takes us to Calais and the Eurotunnel marking the end of 9-Länder 2019.
